New Zealand South Island Revealed: Landscape Photography from Coast to Summit
The locations for Aotearoa New Zealand South Island Landscape Photography are so very different to the North Island. South Island geography is dominated by the Southern Alps - an alpine chain stretching longitudinally from the southern coast to the very top of the island. This rugged mountain range has been formed over millennia by the movement of crustal plate boundaries. New Zealand is currently astride the convergent boundary between the Pacific and Australian Plates. The resulting mountains are a Landscape Photographers paradise. Towering Aoraki Mount Cook - Aotearoa New Zealand's highest peak, together with many surrounding mountain peaks, result in stunning Landscape Photography. The Canterbury Plains and Central Otago on the east of this mountain divide together with the rugged rain swept West Coast and Fiordland on the west provide scintillating Landscape Photography opportunities.
