Volcanoes, Valleys & Coastlines – New Zealand North Island Landscapes Uncovered
The diversity of New Zealand North Island Landscapes means stunning Landscape Photography is only a short drive away. The New Zealand North Island Landscape changes rapidly from rugged volcanic mountains, to lakes, snow covered ranges, distant valleys, rolling farmland, sweeping coastlines and a multitude of scenic beaches.
The North Island is my home and where I have lived most of my life. Of special note is Tongariro National Park where the volcanic mountains - Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe, and Tongariro soar above the surrounding landscape. These mountains are safe when afforded the respect they deserve by planning visits according to the weather and Park conditions. They are active volcanoes and this adds to the mystery and magic of this area. Together they have created a stunning landscape, that when captured, results in fantastic New Zealand North Island Landscape Photography. The photographic opportunities in this region are world renowned and it is an area that I have spent many days hiking and photographing in nature.
North Island Landscape Photography is also about magnificent beaches that abound on both the east and west coasts. Because of the New Zealand geography it is possible (a little crazy, but possible) to photograph locations on each coast within a half a days drive of each other - and in many areas a much shorter timeframe. I have done this, and the resulting photographic images have been very rewarding.
